I like to block things out kinda slapdash in the concept phase, getting a feel sort color and shapes. It works better for me to leave the linework for a later stage because doing things that way helps keep me from getting caught up in the details when I need to be thinking larger than that. Also the slapdash phase lets me draw lots of quick versions without spending too much time. May or may not help you with your myo slot though. Good luck!
Lol, you could also try the draw it out on paper technique rather than in the computer. I'm guilty of making doodles on junkmail envelopes and then I'm forced to keep the darn envelopes because I've doodled concepts all over them.
oih man but i suck with desiging on paper like ive got the character design figured out its just the cOLOURs i cant get right i want like a mix of white/golden yellow ish/pastel pink ish ???? or something ???? soMETHIGN NICE ????? OR MAYBESOME HEAVY CONTRASTING DARK BLUE/BLACK BODY WITH PALE YELLOW MARKINGS ????
Omg, yeah, that's when I just slap colors on a layer and do a bunch different versions til I find one I like. I'd suggest you could take a break and like do something distracting for a bit and let it percolate in the back of your head, or just like turn the whole thin upside down, like change your perspective and way of thinking about it. Gah, I'm out of ideas, but lots of luck! I'm sure it'll work out awesomely!
